DescriptionLove this pice and how the playing cards above him tell his story in only 4 panels with the last one of the cracked mirror relfecting his new face and cracked psyche. Doesn't hurt to have a couple of images of Batman including that center image. I should also mention the image reflected in the red hood says Playing Card Co. backward.Social/Sharing |

Ross' origin pieces are always show stoppers and this one pager captures the cards he's been dealt without any words.

The use of ink wash, instead of his gorgeous watercolors, doesn't detract from the awesomeness of Ross art. Congrats on this amazing page!

Just breathtaking. And, that stunning Joker face in the last panel--wow! Looks more like a photograph. Another example of why Alex Ross is The Man!! Congrats!

An exceptional piece! Ross is as good with ink wash as he is with paint. The use of snapshots to tell the story makes it seem like you are looking at stills from some long-lost movie.

Jawdropping page by Alex Ross! I love how the Joker's story is told in those playing cards at the top of the mirror. And then we look down to see the splash of Joker's reflection broken to bits from hitting the mirror with his head! Wow--What a crazy cool page!
