Description

The New Mutants have been through the ringer! Issue 35 picks up after the Asgard X-over and X-men 200. They're finally back at the mansion, and it's Magneto's first day on the job as their new headmaster. A grueling danger room test makes them question if he's the right man for the job... until he gets revenge on some frat bros that tried to tangle with Moonstar.

There's a 4 page scene in this book that most people probably don't remember. Doug runs a Wizard of Oz program in the danger room to test the muties against Magneto. I thought this would be a fun one to let an artist run wild, and Fowler was the perfect choice. I had no doubt that he'd take the basic prompt and give me something delightful.

It's a bit too busy for me, but that aside, this is INCREDIBLE. The figures are alive, with all the energy and live that an animator brings to the art. All the figures look great, but Warlock is particularly outstanding!

Fowler's imagination runs wild! Everyone's expression are at their highest levels of energy! Maybe the modern day version could have the Danger Room run a Wicked program!
