DescriptionGetting back into posting more art from my Original Comic Art Unboxing with Ruben DaCollector.Arkham...Batman will leave the light on for you. A really great Batman with full backgrounds by Kelley Jones. Batman, Arkham Asylum and a bat, Kelley combines all three elements and renders stunning gothic Batman. Fantastic details and the inks are unreal, great brushwork. I've always wanted one really cool looking Batman pinup from Jones and this one fit the bill. Excellent example, beautiful in person. There was a lot of debate on who or what the face was an image of. Some thought it was the Joker, some said a psychotic Jeremiah Arkham (it is Arkham Asylum in the background), I thought it was an animal of some sort. I settled on it being a bat, it made the most sense to me. Batman by artist Kelley Jones on 11X17 board. 2019 Social/Sharing |

You really scored with this one. Such a great, complete piece! Why not reach out and ask Jones whose face it is?

I agree, he's great at getting back to people.

I admit it's a shot in the dark, but hey, it's easy enough to do and Ceasar has nothing to lose by trying. Maybe he hits a bullseye on his first shot and drives you out of your mind! Or at least gives you some great material to comment about every time Jones' name is mentioned in the chats from that point onward.

What's important to recognize and appreciate is that Jones has created an atmosphere of mystery, haunting horror, and torment that scars the soul. The face could very well be a mirror image of ourselves driven to madness. By all means, you must make contact and unravel what makes this piece so representative of his style.
