Description

For years I've wanted to own a Mark Beachum piece. I thought it'd be a sketch or something small because not much seems to come up for sale and what does always seemed expensive relative to what it was. When this came up at Heritage in a signature auction I thought that given that there was so much amazing art for sale that this gem would be overlooked. In my opinion it's the most striking cover of this short lived series.

The majority of the figure becomes part of the deep space background. The hair looks like a sun or dollar flare. The sword are streaking stars or asteroid trails. Great composition and nicely executed, congrats.
