Description

Being a massive fan of the absurdity of Gwendolyn Poole's alter ego, I hoped to buy some original pages GuruHiru, the artists illustrating the GwenPool comic at the time. Unfortunately this creative team do not sell any original art or take commissions so the only other option I had was to find another artist I felt best emulated their style.

Mindy Lee did give me the option of an illustration with a more elaborate style for Gwenpool, consisting of a multi textured kimono. Slightly hesitant, I stipulated that this route would only work for me if Gwenpool remained recognizable. Mindy opted against this route after that. Nevertheless, I am very pleased with the end result which captures the silly, playful Gwenpool character I initially fell in love with.

It's nice to see Mindy getting bolder with her colors, and it really pays off in spades! Great image!

So great with the bubblegum and pop soda look! Even the dangerous aspects of this piece like tentacles and missles look like rainbows and butterflies!
