DescriptionSize: 22 x 17Year: 1994 This is the piece of art that spanned thousands of miles, unexpected friendships and a fantastic piss up in Vancouver. Further details shall be omitted and I would change absolutely nothing : ) Now about the art and Joe “Friggin” makes me so Mad (because he does so little comic work). Joe has been one of my favorite artists that came after Jim Lee and the Toddfather and reminiscing his run on Uncanny X-Men always gets my heart racing. During this run, there were only 4 double covers that Joe did (not including the Excalibur double cover) of which this is one. It is the first appearance of M from Generation X and the image of her on the cover was actually done on a 11 x 17 board and then put onto the cover. Do pay special attention to Emma Frost too, she is wearing her classic corset and thong costume in the original art but it was turned into a one piece swim costume essentially in the published version. Team Phalanx: Beast, Iceman, Gambit, Cyclops, Wolvie Team UXM: Jubilee, Banshee, Emma Frost, Archangel, Sabertooth I am extremely grateful to the kindness of Ryan for letting this piece hang on my wall. This cover was is so absolutely WILD that it found a permanent spot in my brain. Even I'm surprised by how much I love it. The Finnish people have an untranslatable word for such pieces - SISU!

Such a great piece of X history, an amazing era of comics and intro to some fun characters, especially MONET. Cheers and congrats on this beauty by Madureira.

Highly memorable era to push forth new characters in Generation X with a new artist in Joe Mad! His fresh take on the X-Men brought red hot manga influences to the character redesigns that we all wanted to check out. It definitely left a lasting impression with his short run. The hologram strip on the cardstock cover was the cherry on top that got us even more hyped.

One of my favorite MAD! covers. Banshee and Jubilee holding off the Phalanx drawn masterfully but I especially love the way M is drawn here.

Huge congrats! Great example of Joe's early Art Adams-inspired style, and the Phalanx were a perfect way to show off that detail (complemented by Dan Green's inks).
