Wonderful callback to Azrael's origins with the cathedral setting reminding us on the Order of Saint Dumas.

Other than getting on his list, no need for luck with a DWJ commission --- he delivers every time! This is amazing!

I remember Daniel working on this piece on his YouTube channel. So much fun to watch him work in general but even more so with a special piece like this. Congrats!

That's awesome do you remember which episode it was?? I would love to see his process on this one because there's a lot of layers with it.

This is truly breathtaking. The atmosphere and background are spot on. I love all the tiny candles. Congrats!

Absolutely jawdroppingly beautiful Azrael/Batman commission. Daniel Warren Johnson has almost single-handedly brought the atmospheric background back into the discussion of what makes great comic art. In a wolrd of modern artists who only draw figures against white or black backgrounds, DWJ makes the case that great art includes a sense of place. This piece is a perfect example of how important it is to include the environment that events happen in. It's a winning argument, IMHO.

I've seen this one in the wilds of the internet before, but never realized it was yours until just now. CONGRATS!
