Description

I had an opportunity to pick up this cover quite a few years ago, and I passed on it because I wanted something showing Superman "in action," and this one was too serene (and a little boring) for me at that time. Cut to the present... In coming across this cover again, the more I studied it, the more I came to appreciate the significance of just how powerful that serenity is, and it really does depict Superman "in action" too -- the action of recharging himself to ready himself for his next challenge! I finally came to appreciate Gary Frank's vision of Superman in this environment, and I couldn't pass it up a second time!

Here is the "formal" description of the piece: Superman gets a solar power boost on this sunny-side-up cover from Gary Frank's 12-issue run on Action Comics. A vibrant view of the Last Son of Krypton, rendered in ink over graphite on DC/Vertigo Bristol board with an image area of 10.5" x 15.75". Artist initialed inside Superman's cape.

I once owned this. I could only afford to keep one of the 2 covers I had from the run and so reluctantly let this one go. Can confirm to all on the site that it is fantastic.
