Description

Have wanted a Foster Valiant for many years and was lucky to win this one, after missing out on it last year. It has everything I was looking for, close up of Val, full figure of Val in his armor and lots of Vikings and ships!

#1092, dated 1/12/1958

Produced in ink over graphite on two sections of Bristol board. They have been affixed to an illustration board with a combined image area of 22.75" x 34". Signed in the top right of the last panel. The logo is a printed paste-up. Each of the caption boxes is hand-lettered and affixed to the board.

They don't make them like this anymore! Great full specimen of the timeless adventure epic by the recognized master of the artform. You can get completely engrossed in the story with how huge this is.

Fantastic Sunday from a great period in the strip and Foster's career. The treatment Foster gives water and his flare for action/adventure really set this one apart. Congratulations.
