DescriptionEvery commission theme starts somewhere. In this case, it was Fabio Moon.As a longtime fan of his work, I was thrilled when the opportunity arose to add a piece by Fabio to my Captain America scene theme. The results far surpassed my expectations and I knew it would not be my last commission from him. There was just one problem. What to commission from him next? Although I’ve asked a few artists to add another piece to my Cap theme, I wanted to see Fabio try his hand on something new. When it was announced he would be opening a list for Galaxy Con Raleigh, my son, Clark, and I were watching the first two seasons of The Mandalorian together as we prepped for Season 3. It’s been fun sharing my love of Star Wars with him as we take in the adventures of Din Djarin and Grogu, so I thought why not let Fabio work his magic on a galaxy far, far away? Not surprisingly, he absolutely crushed it. His use of positive and negative space and shapes create a setting that instantly feel like Star Wars, and I appreciate how the austere simplicity of the black and white contrast gives way to more lines as the eye moves down the page. The result is a lived-in feel that suits the world Favreau and Filoni created for Mando. I wasn’t planning on kicking off a Mandalorian theme with this piece, but once I saw the final product, I knew this is the way. Size: A3 Social/Sharing |

Really nice how Moon shows the baby is nestled by the curve of the smoke and the curve of the cape. Even with blaster fire around, you know Mando is going to keep him safe!
