DescriptionWell...this isn't my usual post, that's for sure, and deserves a little background...So this piece pops up for sale on CAF at around 1 am. We all know there is a lot of "risque" art posted every day, but the reason this caught my attention is I do not remember the Gen 13 comic having any nudity. It was suggestive as all get out but never crossed over into the rated R or X category. I looked it up real quick and found out that one issue was drawn with "au natural" panels, and black bars were added later. The price wasn't bad, so picked it up for its uniqueness mostly. However, that changed a little. I read the Gen 13 mini and original ongoing back in the day, mainly through the Campbell runs but never finished it. While waiting on this page to arrive from Canada, I decided to read the final issues this artwork was part of. WOW, that was unexpected!! No spoilers, but that ending punches you in the stomach. I can't imagine what it would have been like reading it in real time 20 years ago. Ugg. If you want to check it out, start around #72. So now I have an emotional attachment and will happily display my only nudie page amongst all that 90s Marvel! And yes...it is the largest published image of a naked Caitlin Fairchild out there. Theres more on show in any national gallery but there they call them mythological or historical pictures. C'mon, everyone was born without clothes. Whats the big deal? I will have to track down these issues. I had stopped buying the comic at this point. Nice artwork.

Yeah, those final issues of Gen 13 were trippy mindf@#ks. I had been hearing good things about Adam Warren's work on the series, which brought me back to the title after years of being away. I'm still not sure what the hell happened in those last few issues. At any rate, congratulations on owning possibly the only Wildstorm-paid for and approved nude depiction of Fairchild!

There was a sketch piece that Campbell did years ago that was a nude of Fairchild and he hi-lighted her hair and landing strip in orange.

I don't recall this either, but it's been years since I've read Gen 13 and I have a nostalgic attachment to the series. I'm definitely excited for you to have pounced on this page, but also hate you at the same time for being awake at 1am to not even make this a competition to race for it LOL

I was really surprised that it was available (can't remember if I got it from Rick or Jason) It was always my favorite piece that I picked up as I loved Gen13 and Fairchild. I hope it stays in your collection for as long as it stayed in mine.

I just read this for the first time recently and was wondering if an uncensored version existed. I was specifically looking for it, and came across this gem.

I didn't follow any of the Image superhero team books this late into the run, so it's a surprise (to me) to see Gen 13 showcase nudity in a standard issue. Was this the comic book equivalent of Sweeps Week? I could see curious moms throwing a fit over this, so I'm guessing this must not have been a common thing which makes this page very rare and a great pick-up —congrats!

Thanks Matt! It was drawn nude, but had black bars in the published issue. I don't know if that was a last minute editorial choice. Either way, the last few issues to this first run are actually pretty touching.
