Description

The way Scott moves your eye through this one is a thing of beauty. Not only does he ensure clean panel-to-panel transitions as the artist, but his word balloon placement shows a man in total command of a comics page.

One of the fun things about giving artists free reign to draw any scene they like is the surprise of seeing which scenes they gravitate to. I wasn’t expecting this one from Scott, but really like the choice. As Steve comes face-to-face with his past self, he lets fly with a swear word that simultaneously harkens back to his “Language” line from Age of Ultron while also showing how he’s grown and changed throughout the films.

That big final panel grabs the most attention, but Scott’s smart storytelling choices, clean inks and color highlights ensure this one is a gem regardless of where you look.

Looking forward to adding more of these from Scott in the future.

I know the last panel is the big splashy one, but I really love the narrowed focus in the third panel to just his eyes as we wait to see what caught his attention in the second panel.
