Description

The "Man with the Animal Powers" had been floating around the background of the DCU for decades before writer Grant Morrison revitalized the hero and thrust him into the forefront with this fourth-wall-breaking series. It started in the pre-VERTIGO imprint era of 1988, with Morrison's last scripted issue being #26 in 1990. The series itself would run 89 issues, and Animal Man was at one point a member of the Justice League. Brian Bolland's striking and detailed covers were a hallmark of the Morrison run.
