DescriptionThis one sang to me.Who didn’t pencil MOKF? Short list. In my opinion, Gene Day drew shoulder to shoulder with a who’s who of pencilers on the title. Tragically, he died of a coronary while crossing the street in his hometown in Canada. Day was a mere thirty-one when he fell. In terms of this page, beyond the footsie-breaking third panel and the geometrical verticality and the King of Spades and clock motifs, I got nothin’. Many thanks to Bechara for the advance! P.S. All hail the gutter "WUMPT!" Social/Sharing |

The fighters mimicking the yin-yang symbol in the third panel is killer.

Combines the raw kung fu fury with the sophistication of the spy genre! Every panel meticulously planned out and executed to have this presentation look better than anything else on the stands.

Great to see another high-quality addition to your collection Mark! Your write-up says it all. Day was taken from us way too soon. Congrats!

A masterful all-Gene Day page from his tour-de-force issue, Master of Kung Fu #118. Gene Day was really at the top of the game at his untimely death.

Wow! What a fabulous Gene Day page for Master of Kung Fu! Featuring a battle royale with Shang Chi fighting for his life with his own brother! Stunning layout with four vertical panels emphasizing the long fall the brother who loses will take. Crazy action as the brothers kick and throw and try to gouge each other's eyes out. In the end Shang Chi wins, as do readers. It's a Gene Day tour de force!
