As I mapped out a New Mutants sketchbook, it made sense to open it with the now A-List character, Magik.

With NYCC on the Horizon, who else could I start with than Rod Reis, who had an amazing New Mutants run as part of the Hickman era, cranking out great renditions of Magik's modern look.

The twist is that I asked him to provide his take on her Darkchylde era. He delivered expertly with great details cross her armor, old school sword, horns, & tail.

Another great start to a themed sketchbook!

What I love about this is that, despite the lighter color palette, there is a darkness to the figure that comes through- really well done. Congrats Dan!
