Sometimes, as you develop thoughts around artists & sketchbook subjects, you know exactly who would be perfect for something.

I'll gladly have Jim Mahfood contribute to any of my sketchbooks he finds interesting, but I had a particular vision that he'd concoct an amazing version of Dani & The Demon Bear.

As usual, Jim delivered a stunner.

Great double pager! The Mahfood treatment is swaying heavy to the original Sienkiwiecz spirit.

Great Dani and DB piece, Mahfood did a great design and call back to this era.

I was about to say only Mahfood can pull this off and then I realized that there is only one other artist that can. That artist is Sienkiewicz. Jim channels him here while still bringing the FOODONE flavor! Very nice!
