DescriptionMy dad was a big fan of the Johnny Weissmuller Tarzan movies of the 1930s and 1940s, so this character has always hit a big nostalgic spot for me. Recently, I was watching one of the EXP shows on a random Tuesday, and this cover popped up and I was just drawn to it. I love the composition of it, with the tree, the clouds, and Tarzan looking out into the distance... So I just had to pull the trigger, and I am glad I did. Thank you Nick for also adding all the cover roughs for it (which are shown below as well)!Social/Sharing |

I absolutely love this cover! That's unexpected.
Just so we're all sure, James, you ARE aware that this is not Ka-Zar in the Savage Land and Magneto and Rogue aren't hiding down beneath those clouds, right? 😜

Oh, stop being so desperate for love! James may be a hardcore X-Lover, but he DOES have more depth to his interests than that and I promise you, Alberto, he's very well aware he's looking at Tarzan!

Yeah, a lot more depth... Did you see his Pip the Troll pinup?

A lovely cover indeed! By the way, my dad was also a big fan of the Johnny Weissmuller Tarzan movies. What up with Spaniard fathers of a certain era?

Very pretty work by Haeser. The way he draws the sunset allows for that beautiful color hold orange and yellow glow. The prelims all look great.

Handsome Lord of the Jungle cover by Ken Haeser! It's such an idyllic image, with Tarzan watching the sunset from his perch on a tree branch. I love the contrats of the silhouette against the deep reds and yellows of sunset. I love how the clumps of thick moss on the tree branch echo the shapes of the clouds on the horizon. it's also cool how the silhouetted branches, roots and leaves serve to frame the bottom half of the cover. Gorgeous work by Haeser! Wonderful pick-up, congrats!
