DescriptionThough the Silver Surfer may be my favorite character growing up, close behind him is the Vision. I seem to gravitate toward characters who need to find a place for themselves amongst humankind. I was fortunate enough many years back to put the origin page of the Vision in my collection. This is where Ultron-5 brings the Vision into being for the very first time. We're so fortunate that John Buscema was the artist on this issue of Avengers. He is so masterful in depicting the raw emotion that the Vision is going through in recalling his origin.Social/Sharing |

I think this is one of the most beautifully illustrated issues in Buscema's run, and this page is a great example of why--so much expressiveness all over the page, particularly in those multiple head shots of the Vision. Also--love Klein's inks on Big John!

The anguish of Vision followed up immediately by the villainy of Ultron! the cascading sequence in panel two is more than one can hope for in a JB piece.

That agony that Vision is going through established him as more "human" than most, a Pinocchio searching for his humanity but it is there all along.. thanks for sharing!
