Description

As a huge fan of the "Knightfall Saga," I'm always glad to add something even slightly connected to it to my personal collection. But this one is a bit special.

While Sword of Azrael (which I have a page from) and Vengeance of Bane (which I still need a page from) are rightly seen as precursors to that incredible storyline, this first mini-series of Robin is truly the catalyst that puts us on the road to "Knightfall," as this issue introduces us to King Snake, who would later be revealed as Bane's father. So, while the connection is not as direct as others, it still makes this a minor key to understanding the story as a whole and gives the character an additional sense of importance in things that were yet to come. It's also the second appearance of one of the longest running Robin foes, the scheming Lynx, as well. And you truly see just how conniving and ruthless these two are and why they have remained fan-favorite villains for so long.

It shows you just how much planning and creativity writer Chuck Dixon brought to comics in the 1990's (especially in the Batman family of titles). This is one add to my collection I'm truly happy to present to you all.

Incredibly tense! Dixon's writing added down to earth crime elements and characters to make Batman's crimefighting more realistic. This piece shows how Lyle visually expands the story with realism and a stylish flourish.

Agreed. Really enjoyed these early Robin issues and thought King Snake and Lynx were great additions to the DCU.
