DescriptionOh the good old days when an aesthetic collector like myself could pick up very affordable MTG art to satisfy my fantasy sweet tooth. The thirty year rule has kicked in and that's over now. Good for the artists though! I've pretty much considered myself priced out of that market, but I still watch it. This piece came up, along with a few others being released by Victor. I was blown away. Victor used to work in digital. He saw the money and love for traditional pieces and put in the work to switch mediums. That's the kind of artists I want to support the most. I feel like he's going to skyrocket. Even though this was a stretch financially, I felt it was likely my last chance and so I reached.Timing was good for me. I was in the middle of re-reading A Deepness In The Sky, so I had sentient spiders on the mind. I'm not Hispanic, but I love Día de Muertos paint on a pretty face. Oddly enough I was just learning about and liking mycelium coffin burials when this came to auction. Speaking of auctions, I didn't do too bad at this one. I know some friendly people were wishing me well. Thank you. Social/Sharing |

lovely image! thanks for posting! i can certainly relate to your description in regards to being priced out of the hobby. the current market makes me a bit more careful about what i can pursue and purchase. it also makes me cherish my collection even more knowing i could never afford it under current conditions :) congrats on your amazing acquisition.

We all pick our spots and this one is worth it as it is definitely on a quality level above others!
