DescriptionWhen Mark asked me what subject a large full inks commission should be, there really was only one option for me. H.G. Wells' War of the Worlds was the start of my fascination with all things SF, comics and Fantasy. As a child I read the book and heard the Radio Play, and it completely fired my imagination....Social/Sharing |

Absolutely stunning commission by Mark Schultz of War of the Worlds! This is one of the finest pieces I've ever seen Mark draw! Everything about it is fascinating--The Martian Tripod Fighting Machines, the blob-like Martians themselves, the daring resistance fighters battling off the aliens! It's all great. Love thewide sweep of the illustration, allowing us see the action like a wide-sceen movie theatre! Schultz' attention to the tiniest details is impressive! His use of grey tones and blacks to give the scene a sense of reality is amazing! Love, love, love this one! Congrats!

Simply spectacular. Not a subject I would have come up with for Mark...but now it seems like such a no-brainer. Congrats!

Interesting biotech crab take on the tripods, with Mark's typically great rendering.
