Description

Final issue in a great series with so much nostalgia for me. The 1st panel in this page is the point where Godzilla finally ceases his rampage which started in issue #1. A small panel for a pretty significant part of the entire story imo. The middle panels shows Godzilla's connection with the scientist's grandson. The final 3 panels of this page contains an assembly of most of the super heroes from the series.

Special thanks to Rick S. & Will Gabri-El for help in obtaining this piece.

Congratulations on getting this beauty.  Not only is this the final issue of one of my favorite comic book series, it also happens to be the final issue of the only comic book subscription I ever had.  I still remember being so excited when each showed up in the mail every month in the brown paper wrapper.  12 issues. The final twelve issues of this 24 issue series.  I actually wrote to Marvel after I finished the last one, and they replied that yes, it is the final issue.  I was double-depressed.

Thank you. I remember being so bummed it was the last issue. Anxiously awaiting each issue to come out only for it to end so soon it seemed.

I just read this on the Wiki page for the series, as to why it ended after 24 issues.  I'm just glad they knew soon enough to have time to wrap it up, rather than just cut it off.

After two years of minimal communication with Marvel, Toho abruptly raised the fee for renewing the Godzilla license. Wary of the impact it would have on the series' profitability and unwilling to sink a larger amount of money into a property they didn't own, Marvel withdrew from negotiations and Godzilla, King of the Monsters was cancelled after 24 issues.

So much emotion poured into the top tier with the closeups of the eyes!  Integrating the rest of the 616 into the story made it a must have crossover for Shield and FF fans too!
