Description

This was painted in the days immediately following 9/11. As a native New Yorker and an ex New York City police officer (the number under my signature is my old shield #) I just had to do SOMETHING to help all of those courageous men and women in their time of need.

Following is the original solicitation for the print from Dynamic Forces--

"As many fans and fellow professionals know, I was once a member of the New York City Police Department.

Due to the tragic events of September 11, 2001 more than 30 of my fellow officers were lost. Yet, as incredible as that number is to comprehend it pales compared to the number of NYC Firefighters lost (more than 350 at last count).

The heroes that populate our fantasy universe can fly, rend metal and lift tons of debris with their bare hands. Unfortunately, the real life heroes at the World Trade Center possessed none of these powers...and they died, leaving behind wives, husbands and children. And unlike the heroes of our imagination, they will not be coming back. Not next month, not next year, not ever.

This painting was created as a tribute to those courageous men and women as well as a means to raise funds to help comfort those grieving families left behind. It will be produced as a print by Dynamic Forces with 100% of the profits going to the NYC Police and Fire Widows and Childrens Fund

The original painting will be auctioned on the wizardworld.com website, again with all monies being donated.
