Okay I have lots of things to say about this page. First off it is returning to my collection after nearly 20 years away. I first purchased this in I believe 2002 or 2003. On the back of the page it was listed for sale for $85 then marked down to $70. Anyway, I didn�t pay that originally and especially didn�t pay that this time around. Next this was one of the first pages I purchased because of the significance to me personally. Some of you know the story already. I used to share an art studio in San Francisco with Al Gordon, Steve Leialoha, Chris Marrinan and later Erik Larsen. Starting with a Transformers comic, Al let me fill in the black areas and do some of the background lines. It was fun for me and took some of the work off Al�s plate. I got to do this for the Byrne FF issues Al inked. And finally with his early run on Justice League with Kevin Maguire. This page was one in which I put the most black on. (Maybe Fantastic Four 293 might have had more!) I remember doing it as clear as yesterday. I started collecting original comic art specifically to pick up pieces I put brush to paper on. Stupidly for some reason I sold them all off. Well when this came back around I had to get it. Not only because I had Al sign it to me in 2004. I am the Big �B� he is referring to. But this page signals my end to collecting comic art for the time being. I am retired with a limited cash flow and most likely won�t afford a new piece for awhile. The bonus of letting this page go and getting it back is one of the other owners got Kevin Maguire to sign it. I really prefer to have my art signed by the artist. So there you have it. I end as I started in the early 2000�a. I feel pretty good about this break. What piece comes up that gets me out of my retirement? We shall see! Enjoy. Signed by both artists.
