DescriptionPassed up this piece the first time it was available due to its massive size - but when it went to auction I had a change of heart. Wanted a Gammill piece - ever since I picked up the KG sketchbook/art of book. Never imagined it would be with 3 of my favorite heroes on it. The cityscape is also a tremendous effort by the artists- a feature often lacking from modern pieces.Social/Sharing |

Although Ricardo Villamonte was at his pique when inking Gammill on PMIF, McLeod's inks in this time period were also exquisite and made every penciler he worked with to look better. His decision to add zip-a-tone to the brick facade works brilliantly here, as it helps not only to give the brick an added solidity and texture, but also helps in creating depth s othat the Powerman and Iron Fist figures come forward and separate from the building. Gammill was at the top of his game here too, with dynamic figure work and an uncanny cityscape which is so fundamentally solid and three dimensional, that it almost becomes a character unto itself. Really a spectacular piece all around!

Wow, Gammill and McLeod really spared no expense when working on this beauty! Must be a sight to behold in person. Love the characters, of course, but that background work is just as awesome. Congrats!
