Description

This reinterpretation of Superman under the Absolute umbrella has been a pretty entertaining story so far. This page reveals his light beam going out of control and accidentally terminating some Phenomena Field agents assigned to take down Superman and bring him in.
When I got the art I was pleasantly surprised to see the color on the page. I love the rage of Kal-el's face with the emanating lines showing his the power being unleashed.
The FWOOM lettering surrounding Kal-el gives a nice dramatic effect and makes me miss the old days of seeing lettering on the vintage OA

killer Rafa page dude! having the sound effect lettering and that explosion of color built into the page design feels really special. congrats!

What a kick-ass page from Absolute Superman by Rafa Sandoval! Really fresh layout here helps establish this is a new look at the Man of Steel, The first panel here is drawn inside the sound effect "FWOOM." Now that's different. Love the use of red here to heighten the drama (And the blood) of the two Agents being vaporized by Kal-El's heat vision. The two panels that follow are off-kilter, as if Superman's world is off-kilter as well. They depict the aftereffects on Kal-El from the explosive power he unleashed. Fantastic pick-up, congrats!
