DescriptionThis is Carlos Dearmas' cover art for the 'XXXVII Comic Contest of Portugalete' award book, which was held in the Portugalete City Hall in Spain where a new Gorgona Anthology "Old Ties" story Carlos illustrated won the first prize award.Carlos brilliantly delivers edge-to-edge details in his work with a feast of lines that give us so much to pour over. I love the touch of art nouveau he added to this piece creating some wonderful open areas with the flowing lettering and circular shapes. Social/Sharing |

The composition and detail are both outstanding, but then you have that hand lettering. It's a stunning piece and shows how talented he is when it comes to overall vision.

Oh it's awesome, George. I gotta get a Dearmas piece soon. It's almost like it's slowly moving, kinda swirling...super effective stuff with that line work. THEN incorporating the lettering that way?! Love it, man, big congrats. Way to close out 2024!
