DescriptionThis particular page is from Mega #1It captures the moment when the Salamander first appears, clinging to the historic Palacio Salvo before setting the city ablaze. I love how Sanz meticulously renders the building’s ornate architecture, allowing the Salamander’s monstrous form to dominate the scene. The heavy black background heightens the drama, making the creature’s wings and the dome’s silhouette pop in stark contrast. It’s both surreal and cinematic, almost like a still from a dark fantasy film. Salvador Sanz’s Artistic TouchWhat really draws me to Salvador Sanz’s work here is the way he merges realism with the fantastical. The detailed linework and strong contrasts give the page a sense of weight and scale—you can practically feel the building’s grandeur and the Salamander’s raw power. It’s a perfect example of Sanz’s ability to blend horror and sci-fi elements into a real-world setting, and it’s one of the reasons I’m thrilled to have this piece in my collection. About Salvador SanzSalvador Sanz is an Argentinian comic artist known for his dark, cinematic style and meticulously detailed illustrations. The directional lighting from the city streets below is built into every facet of this piece. Really great vision by Sanz to be able to carry this out throughout the entire creation. Textures, design, and the fear from the Salamander's presence are all here.
