Description

A nice Millie the Model recreation from 1996 by Dan DeCarlo, inked by John Lucas. According to the provenance on the back written by Lucas, the recreation is a pinup from Millie #87.

This is fantastic, Bob, really beautiful! I wonder why Lucas didn't sign it though. By the way, did DeCarlo recreate his own work, or is it a recreation of another artist's work? I'm guessing the former, but want to know for certain.

This doesn't look 90's at all. The linework and fashion is too glamorous! Her dress makes men look at her like she's an ice cream sundae!

Such a great recreation from the 1958 comic drawn by DeCarlo, not too long before he jumped ship for Archie Comics and sailed with Betty and Veronica for forty or more years. John Lucas was the fantastically talented major artist on the Katy Keene revival of the 1980's, and you can see by his finishing/inking in this Millie recreation how adept he was (and probably still is) at portraying beautiful, glamorous characters.
