DescriptionWow, well this is a big one! Here is what I love to collect in no particular order:1. X-Men 2. Late 80s, 90s art 3. DPS pages 4. Killer large main image 5. Meaningful dialogue Put all those ingredients in a blender and bake the perfect OA and this spread is what you get! Here you have Professor X reaching out telepathically to all his X-Men, those by his side and across the world, to say his last goodbye before the M’Kraan crystal destroys the universe, resetting the timeline for the Age of Apocalypse. His mix of emotions and wisdom until the very end has sat with me for years. Being my first vertical DPS, the art is huge and oh so lovely. Acquiring this piece, and another I’ll post tomorrow, would not have been possible without the help of a special collector and friend. Without this hobby, there is virtually no chance our paths would have crossed. While the trade involved a treasured piece in my own collection, I am over the moon and truly thankful. Social/Sharing |

I would have to take more time to be certain, but this is likely my favourite of all the pieces in your collection. Octavio will now despise you forever, by the way. Askani'Son too. KILLER PIECE! Kudos!

A huge WOW! I remember this image well. The lead up to the Age of Apocalypse was genuinely exciting, as the notion of replacing an entire publishing line to serve a story had not been previously done by Marvel. I can say that this kept me reading Marvel's mutants at a time when my interest in them had started to wane, and this issue was a powerful sendoff to kick off what we now know to be a seminal X-men tale. Big congrats!

One of my favorite aspects of original art collecting is the revalation of what sometimes seems like almost "hidden" art. This piece would not be anywhere near as spectacular as it is without that second group of characters behind the main group in front. The published spread depicts them only as astral images, but they are so much more defined in the original, yet still done in a way that doesn't detract at all from the front line characters. Anyway, great addition to your DPS collection. It's going to look absolutely spectacular framed. Congratulations sir!

Churchill on his absolute A-game right here! If it wasn't enough that the image was phenomenal, the dialogue alone is worth the price of admission and a reminder of why the X-Men resonanates with so many people. Congrats, bud!

The hits just keep on comin' in 2021! Talk about a piece that's right up your alley, man. Let me do the checklist...oh, wait..you alread did :) Horizontal DPS! That's the way to fit all these X folks in, and there are lots to fit in. So much illustrated '90s goodness throughout. Cartoony yet very detailed. 2 artistes doin' their thing! Big congrats, man!

Reminds me of the Animated series episode "Graduation Day". Not the most ideal ending I imagined to such a show but Xavier's goodbyes to each student were still damn emotional. This double splasher is even better! A piece that indeed immortalises why the X-Men will always have the most solid gold heart and soul of any and all characters in all of Graphic storytelling. Congrats!

I don't think a Churchill piece or a X-Men team page for that matter gets much better than this. And it's an elusive vertical DPS! Congrats! I can't wait to see it framed.

Possibly the greatest piece of Ian Churchill's art in existence. Nostalgic and epic. Congrats James, this DPS couldn't have gone to a better home.

Another great fantasy piece where the artist and writer are allowed to go wild with imagination as the Age of Apocalypse storyline would wipe this all away.

Epic! I would dare say Churchill's best Cable/X-Men page. This issue was the first Cable comic I bought the week it was released at the newsagent. I'm envious. Nice work on securing it.

If you love the "pouches 90s" and Churchill 90s art (not his natural stylistic inclination apparently), this is the top of the pyramid.

This page is absolutely full of magic for all the reasons you listed. This gigantic monumental moment is captured so well by Churchill, such a great find. Glad to see in your collection as I knows you will take proper care of this beauty. Love the characters and so many at that, the message is beautiful and can't express how great this page really is. Huge congrats!

When you ask for a Cable splash and you get an X-Men poster.
Uncanny.
You made the right trade.

There are roll call pages, and then there is this. Verticle DPS? Wow, each character must be massive. Churchill and Larosa clearly understood the gravity of the moment, and stepped up to the plate swinging away. Home run. It's gorgeous. Pencils, inks, layouts, all the pockets. Just gorgeous. Huge congrats!
