Description

Original artwork for Detective Comics #736 (DC, 1999), page 17 by the talented Mike Deodato Jr. (pencils) and Sean Parsons (inks). Terrific four-panel page from the epic x-over saga "No Man's Land" storyline, which inspired the Dark Knight Rises movie. From the story "Homecoming," as the Bane returns back to Gotham City to claim himself king of the city and only Batman dares to stand against his delusions of grandeur. This dramatic page features superb close-up images of the two combatants standing face-to-face for another brawl to the finish. Striking page with super-strong images of Bane, culminating in a forbidding, long-eared Batman, that is reminiscent of celebrated artist Kelley Jones' work on Knightfall (and after).
