Description

This is a bad image of a great piece of art. Years ago I got the bright idea to host a get together of comic art collectors & artists in Fredericksburg Texas. The idea was that it would be 25-50 art collectors & there would be time to hang out, drink beer, & talk comic art. I was going to charge $25 a person & that should have gotten me to break even. I flew in Mark Schultz & Mike Grell & then some other artists came in from around Texas.

I got the artists to do a jam piece & then it was auctioned to the highest bidder & the money went to charity. I couldn't afford the piece because I lost too much money on the event. We had low turnout & many people didn't bother to pay.

Years later, the original buyer sold his art to Tom Fleming & I was able to buy this from Tom. It is a great souvenir of a fun, if expensive weekend.

Mark drew Tarzan. Mike drew La. Kerry drew the snake & tree. Kieth drew the pterodactyl. John drew the ape in the middle. I think Mike drew the other vines, but I have slept since then & don't remember for sure. The board is about 2 foot high & 3 feet across.

To me this a cool & unique piece of art & that is what I like the most about collecting art.
