Joe Palooka!! This is pretty fun and not something you can expect to see everyday on CAF, might be the first time someone else I follow has posted Palooka artwork. I have one Joe Palooka piece (Cover to issue 51) that i posted back in 2021 and no one saw or noticed lol, also had a hard time scanning it and then framed so too late now. Anyway, congrats this is a nice example!

I feel like everyone wants to get Knobby after a stretch in confinement...

Looks like Knobby's stuck between a rock and hard place and feelin' it!  Or between convict and Palooka :)  Fun stuff, John, and maybe threaten that scanner to cooperate..."I can get another one, y'know?!"  Congrats, man!

True love is the greatest thing on Earth - except for an MLT, a mutton, lettuce, and tomato, where the mutton is nice and lean and the tomatoes are ripe. They're so perky. I love that.

Well this is a fun and different piece for your collection! Have you put it up to a lightbulb to see if there's any original art under the stats in the first panel?

Joe's gonna eat lightnin' and Marvin's gonna crap thunder!  Knobby's prediction for the fight?  It's gonna smell if they did those things literally.

That's not something you see every day--A comic book page from 1951. Back then, a lot of comics, including this one, were based on comic strips. This one was based on a strip about a professional boxer named Joe Palooka. I know it was hugely popular as a strip and it must have done pretty well as a comic book if it reached issue 60. It's interesting to me to see some of these older pages and how different in tone and style they are from the stuff we read today. Fun to see though. Thanks for sharing!

This is fun, but Knobby hates lamb stew... Congratulations on having the story and keeping it together!
