DescriptionFrom 'The Cosmic Cannonball Caper' issue.Overlay on top panel for Mirage's power. 'Berto is distressed over Sam's gimp costume. One of 5 pages inked by Tom Palmer. I'm generally a fan of Tom's work, but I don't quite think he got the detail and nuance of Bob's facial expressions. Bob was nice enough to send me pencil scans of the Palmer inked pages. The inks aren't great, but given that Palmer pitched in on 5 pages, that likely means that the deadline was tight, which would explain how much looser and rushed it looks than usual. Either way, it's an interesting look at the process of creating comics and the fact that Sunspot in action appears in most panels still makes this an amazing page!

Yeah I'm sure deadline issues. It's interesting seeing the pencils, because Tom stuck mostly to them whereas Bob embellished as he finished pages. And can't get much better than Sunspot bursting through like the Kool-Aid man!

Once this issue is completely posted. You will officially own the most leather and dog collar pages on CAF.
People told you it wasn't possible but you would not listen and now it has happened. Always stay true to your dreams André.

That can't be right. There's gotta be a JRJr collector that has a ton of morlock pages...

The previous pages might be the best set up to that line after Roberto does the Kool-Aid Man entrance! A burn that torches Sam with the heat hotter than the Inferno storyline.

Sunspot action always make for great graphic fun. I too would prefer a McLeod full art but it remains a great page.

"My dear friend, what have they done to you?"
Indeed a great question, similar to the one Professor X asks of himself to Callisto in UCX #193 "Good Grief woman, what have you done to me?!?", as the professor is dressed in similar garb.

Tom was my favorite inker, and I think he did a fine job and was very gracious to help me meet the deadline, but as far as being rushed, keep in mind that I was even more rushed than he was, or I would have inked all the pages myself.

Nice Roberto action! Also just love how his silhouette and Krackling power break up the visual in a page. Congrats!
