DescriptionCounting down the last five pieces from my Original Comic Art Unboxing with Ruben DaCollector.Denys Cowan! One of my favorite artists along with Grell, Giffen and Newton (what an odd assortment). I first saw Cowan when he was doing the Question but then I noticed his art popping up everywhere. In fact he has worked on all of my favorite characters. Obviously he did the Question (which I have a couple covers of) he worked on Green Arrow during the Mike Grell written series doing covers and interiors for issues #41-43 and #46-47 (I have a couple covers). He worked on Jonah Hex, doing the cover for the final issue of the 1977 Jonah hex series and doing covers #3, 8 ,13 & 16 from the 1986 Hex series (again I have a couple of covers) and finally he did covers for Infinity Inc #24 & 28. The quadfecta!! and now I have the quadfecta! A little bit about this cover. It is a recreation of Infinity Inc #19 cover originally by McFarlane & DeZuniga. It is part of the 2019 Crisis on Infinite Earths box set, which included 14 hardcover books with new covers, all of which were recreations by various artists. This volume included Infinity, Inc. #18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, Infinity, Inc. Annual #1 & Justice League of America #244 & 245. I can now say I own a Denys Cowan Infinity Inc cover. I'm only one of three people who can say that. So psyched to have this cover. The Quadfecta!! Crisis on Infinite Earths: Infinity Inc hardcover by artists Denys Cowan and Joe Rubinstein. On a 11X17 board. 2019 Social/Sharing |

I think Todd originally got inspired by Kirby's FF #8 cover for this one! An incredible lineage of great creators to get to this ultimate statement of a Crisis cover!

Great stuff, Ceasar! The "Puppet Master" cover trope has always been a favourite of mine. Have you noticed that in Steel and Wonder Woman's faces, there's some DeZuniga stylistic influence? Especially in Steel's face. Don't know if it was a conscious or subconscious thing, but I like it!
