Description

For #swampthingsaturday I decided to borrow an idea I saw here on CAF. We’ve had writers write Swamp Thing, but can they draw Swamp Thing? I thought it’d be a fun idea to hand the writers my 8x8 green sketchbook and see what they can do. Being one of my favorite characters and with many writers attending NYCC 2024, I thought it’d be the perfect opportunity.

For the first in this series- Jeff Lemire.

I was only able to go to NYCC on Friday and Sunday, and with Jeff’s last day attending being Saturday. So I had to go to see him first thing Friday.

Lemire is a high standard to judge other writers by as he's drawn a lot of his own written books throuh the years. I like the wild look with the flaring eyebrows and the "X" across the face.

Yeah the more I've looked at this sketch, the more I like it. I especially enjoy how he started with pencils of a standard person/man then on top with ink lines and vines. A man before, and now Swamp Thing
