DescriptionDespite my fondness for the Merc With a Mouth a.k.a. Deadpool, many a time his covers and pages have eluded me. To be fair, Deadpool art has never been a high priority of mine, even though I've long since realized the cultural significance of the character, but only because whenever I have come across art featuring Wade Wilson, it quickly skyrockets out of my budget. After a certain point I began wondering if it was worth holding out for a decent Deadpool piece.Well, thankfully I came across the cover for Deadpool #7, and while it might not be the cover to #1 or feature an early Deadpool appearance, I still think it's a hell of a piece. It helps that I'm a longtime Ed McGuiness fan, which only made this grab even more significant for me. In fact, I've often thought that if I was going to spend money on Deadpool, it would have to be either early Liefeld or McGuiness art (tho there are other artists I wouldn't mind having a piece from); this will definitely hold me over until I get more Deadpool art in the future. This run was what really made me a fan of Deadpool and was my introduction to Ed's work. Love his early thick style. I don't see many pages from this series out there, great pickup!

This aesthetic fit in with the times with dark edge and irreverent humor! McGuinness' art can be both serious in its violence and carry that humorous tone with the buff guys going over the top when needed.

Don't see too many early Deadpool covers from the first regular run. Nice add!

I've never particularly cared for Deadpool, but I really do like McGuinness' art. Kudos on the grab!

Hey, man, any early McGuinness DP cover works! Love seeing these older images in his more exaggerated style. Congrats!
