Description"The Dead Draftees of Regiment Six!" by Michael Fleisher. Ninth page of the 18-page story.I am very grateful to Rich Cirillo for letting me have this page to help me in my quest to put the story back together. Rich was repaying a favor I did many years ago, giving him my ticket for a sketch from George Perez (rest in peace). I frankly had forgotten about it! He used the ticket to get George to draw the Beast in his incredible Avengers sketchbook, which you can see in his CAF gallery. Page summary: The stable boy's abolitionist sister asks why the grifter, posing as an abolitionist leader, didn't join the Union army. He lies, claiming that the army exempted him because of his work for the movement. At the front, the stable boy explains to the unit commander why his induction into the army is a mistake. The commander agrees to make him a noncombatant but can't undo the consent form he signed. The young man becomes a clerk in the unit but things go from bad to worse when the commander is alerted to an imminent attack by a Confederate force outnumbering them ten to one. The commander, more concerned about his reputation than his men, refuses to retreat and futilely orders noncombatants to reinforce the front line. Social/Sharing |

While I certainly enjoy looking at Civil War era artwork by JLGL every day, I have to say that I'm getting really antsy about wanting to see the page on which the con man grifter gets his comeuppance!

C'mon Ruben, what comeuppance? Don't you know you can dodge the draft, call the enlisted suckers, and still be hailed as commander in chief?

True, but I just want to see one small win. Mind you, I kind of already did get a win a couple of hours ago when the news came out about your new Secretary of Defense being the bootlicking Fox & Friends Weekend co-host, Pete Hegseth! I thought it was just a joke, and then I realized it was true and I sat back in my chair and laughed out loud for half a minute!
🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣
I'll say one thing, if there was one positive thing I got out of his previous four years, it was the non-stop laughter at the never ending stupidity. I can't wait to see what position Judge Jeanine Pirro is tapped for! And Alex Jones!

That's the Project 2025 playbook we voted for. Loyalty is first. Competency is way down the list. Yes men are easy to control and will carry out whatever plans that are given to them. He won't have to keep hiring and firing like before if people just do what they're told.
