But this page isn’t just his origin — it’s mine too. This was the first original comic art page I ever purchased, marking the start of my journey into collecting. Just like Stewart was called into service and transformed, I found something in this page that lit the spark.In comic terms, this is my "first appearance" — the moment the story of my collecting truly began. Great stuff by Gibbons. This brought the same flair of illustration that was about the same time period he would move onto Watchmen and you'll find many of the same storytelling and illustration techniques.
