Description

I bought this issue on a rare trip to an actual comic shop when I was thirteen (I grew up in a very small town with only the grocery store newsstand as a place to buy any comics). The Joker poisons Lois with the doll pictured, and only a chemical mixed with the Joker's blood can save Lois. Unfortunately this will kill the Joker, and Batman convinces Superman they can't cross that line, even to save Lois. It turns out to be a gag, and Lois fortunately recovers. I was pretty riveted.

Kieron Dwyer's stay on Action wasn't long, but the few issues I was able to pick up as a kid left a big impression, as great artists tend to do. Happy to find a page from this issue when I wasn't really looking.

I really liked this page when I saw it offered. Thought about making a run at it, but very glad it found the right home with you!

Great artwork from a story I have not read. Appreciate the synopsis. I was intrigued with the tiny Joker doll and wondered where it fit.

Really nice page layout here, with the bang-bang-bang lineup of faces down on the lower tier. Wonderfully cool to have a page from your first comic store comic! Congrats, Eric! :)

Always cool to be able to grab a page from a comic you remember buying as a kid. Kieron is perpetually underrated and I never get tired of watching Instagram videos of Rodier inking. Great art team and a great page!
