Star Wars Weekly was Marvel UK's Star Wars comic series, reprinting their American counterpart's Star Wars comics, typically split into smaller segments and published over a number of issues. Offered here is 11x16.25" artboard w/pen and ink original art for the cover of Star Wars Weekly #15, published May 17, 1978. This issue featured the first half of the story published in the US as Star Wars #8, the issue that introduced Jaxxon, Hedji, Don-Wan Kihotay, Amaiza Foxtrain and Jimm (Starkiller Kid), though none appear on this UK cover. Art is by Jeff Aclin w/inks by Tony DeZuniga (1932-2012) and shows "The Ambush Of Han Solo" as he is attacked by trio of aliens and "The Fury Of Chewbacca" as he battles alien. Top margin has printed "British Book" along w/"SWW" title abbreviation and issue number in blue pencil. Upper right has initials of Aclin and DeZuniga. Title and Marvel publishing indicia (as well as the three cover blurbs below) are pasted stats w/taped trademark symbol. Back has Marvel copyright stamp. Top/bottom and right margins have some scattered glue staining, which infringes upon art area at bottom center. Rest of art remains clean and VF overall. Fresh to market, this piece (and other Star Wars original art offered in this auction) comes from one collector, and each is an incredible find.
