Description

I only dabbled in the Nova universe back in the day -- wasn't the biggest Marvel cosmic reader, but did enjoy the teen hero/space cop conceit -- so happy to have an example. This Bronze Age page from Nova #13 (1977) is a collaboration of Sal Buscema (breakdowns) and Joe Sinnott (finished art). It features Richard Rider, the human rocket, in action in all seven panels. Nova witnesses a limo being carjacked with T'Kora, an important Wakandan scientist inside. He goes after the car and smashes its front in order to stop the vehicle, but the kidnapper holds the victim at gunpoint. 'Nuff said.

Sinnott went with the Sal look without trying to make it the classical house style. You can see the emotions are more raw and powerful this way to excite the audience.
