Description

Wonderful cover by David Marquez of 2 iconic characters re-imagined in a
classic mid air battle. Part 2 of 5 of the Goblin Nation story line this
is the variant cover of issue 28.
Davids fine line work in the details of the 2 characters juxtapose lovely
with the chaotic smoke emitted from the Goblin Glyder. The 2 figures
contour gracefully locked in a heated battle.

It reminds me of what Kubrick was going for with Full Metal Jacket.
It is the battle of order vs chaos. The first half visually was all about
clean lines and order reflective of the US Marines discipline.
Then it jumps to the second half in the trenches of Vietnam with dynamic
camera work and the fog of war. Below is a link to a great article on

Really nice Marquez piece. Great Spidey, but the lines on GG really stand out to me most. Killer job by David. Congrats!
