DescriptionMiles Morales: Spider-Man # 30 variant coverArt by Sara Pichelli Marvel Comics - September 29, 2021 May 22, 2025 UPDATE: I'm thrilled to share this piece is now on display at Marvel's Spider-Man: Beyond Amazing Exhibit in the Griffin Museum in Chicago! This is a big one for me. Marvel celebrated 10 years of Miles Morales with this special double-sized issue and some special covers! They took things up a notch by bringing back Miles' co-creator, Sara Pichelli, who really brought Miles to life with her art past and present. It was such a treat to see her do this cover with the new costume and it almost felt like a stamp of approval. Pichelli almost always works digitally so I was thrilled to find out this one was done traditionally! Many thanks to Pichelli and the crew at Cadence Comic Art for making this one happen! I'm loving the new suit design created by Chase Conley. It's exciting to see Mile differentiate himself even more. I enjoyed reading about Conley's design decisions with the new costume on Screenrant.com. Marvel stated, "...Miles Morales: Spider-Man #30 will be a major turning point in the legacy of the young Spider-Man. And as teased earlier this year, the issue will feature the debut of a brand-new costume designed by artist Chase Conley." What an elusive get, George! Love Sara's work and to get a tradiotnal piece from Miles' co-creator in his all-new duds is checking all sorts of boxes. This is a shiny, shiny jewel!

Thank you! And all the boxes! You'd love this one in person too with some of the subtle inkwash strokes.

LOVE it, man. Many a Miles Morales box checked with this beaut! His co-creator (who doesn't do traditional art very much at all) doing a 10th anniversary cover with the first appearance of the new costume?! Yes, sir! A FUN piece, too, and love the very organic nature of her work. Love the costume, too. Sweet urban-y vibe that you can do a lot with, especially in terms of movement, plays on the silhouette...all good stuff. Sincere congrats, brother!

Always great chatting with you about this one and other art! I love Chase's design and know it would accent Miles' movements if they ever grace us with an animated version.

This is the rare cover where the trade dress helps underscore how fun and loose the pose on the Miles figure is. And you get Chase Conley's suit design in an early appearance? Doesn't get much better than this.
