Description

It feels both out of kilter but also an important distraction to be posting new art at this time of crisis - I hope in a few months or so I will be able to look back at this image, remember how bad things were and delete all this commentary. Meanwhile though here is a piece of art I commissioned from the great Eduardo Risso about two months ago. To my immense pleasure and surprise the package from Argentina landed on my doorstep this week - with many thanks to his son Nico. And what an image, outdoing himself taking on my favourite comics couple, the Swamp Thing and Abby Arcane.

While it becomes harder and harder to keep the beauty & the beast theme from becoming a cliché, there ARE those who possess enough creative brilliance to avoid any redundancy. Either you’re the one who copies everything that’s been done before, or you’re the one who everyone will copy. I think we all know which group this piece falls into.
