DescriptionOriginal Illustration2004 Ink Pencil and Ink 28 x 44 cm (11.02 x 17.32 in.) A page that, in its simplicity, perfectly captures Tim Salefs unmistakable style, defined by deep shadows and distorted anatomy. Sale developed a storytelling approach that places emotion at its core: each of his pages, especially in his most iconic Marvel works, speaks of memory, solitude, and anger. These suspended emotions turn visual storytelling into a deeply personal experience. His work forms a bridge between expressionism and classic American comics, blending dramatic intensity with graphic sensitivity. In Hulk: Gray, the character is portrayed with tragic power, revealing the emotional fragility beneath the brute strength, all without ever betraying the source material or the spirit of the character. Looking at Ross in the last panel makes you realize Sale drew him just as angry and monsterous as the Hulk.
