DescriptionNot every day do you get to add a milestone piece to your collection! I have been pining over an Art Adams cover since I started collecting comic art, but I wanted to get a one-and-done example.Well come to find out, that's a lot harder than I thought! Thanks to a long-time collector buddy (RS88), patience, timing, and the hurt it took to sell a treasured piece in my own collection (though to a great new/returning home), I was able to hang this beauty on the wall. Love the detail, size, and subject, but my favorite part is how all the black ink balances the overall composition. It may be a while before I top this, so probably stick to posting wonderful 90s dregs for a bit! 18 x 24 on a single large board Social/Sharing |

Well, if you were really looking for a one-and-done, you couldn't do much better. Congrats on both your first Adams and setting a new price threshold. Trust me, a few more days (or even hours) of looking at this beauty and you won't even care about what it cost. Wish I could have worked something out for this piece myself. It would be a perfect candidate for my lifelong #100 Adams goal. And to answer your question, YES! Even thought I have over 90 Adams pieces, I AM still jealous (in case you were wondering). LOL

You are jealous because you suffer from Adams addiction. An addiction so extreme that you want to corner the market and keep it all for yourself. When they find you, overdosed on Adams, face buried beneath scribbled paper, your relatives will cry, before they sell the lot, and then cry with happiness while jumping on wads of banknotes. Lol.

Lol, well at least he's in a semi supportive community that each share a similar flavor of pain!

Oh no, he is crushing his head. Now they will have to be Flatheads of the Galaxy. Fire up the merchandising machines. Thar's gonna be a rebranding.

Amazing! Is this on 2 boards or one board sideways? I heard AA filled in each bubble with a single horse hair brush.

The best DPS cover has to belong in the collection of the DPS king doesn't it? Extraordinary piece. May it grace the halls of the DPS Kingdom of Siegel for years and years to come.

Wrap your mind around this wraparound cover and it will warp your mind about the focus on double page splashes, gatefold covers, 2-6 books connecting covers, diecut covers, photo covers and lenticular covers. This one is mind blowing enough with wall to wall Arthur Adams details.

Not everyone can have an Addams. So why not go for an Adams eh?! Congrats on an amazing piece of art by a guy with the first name Art. Especially dig the way he drew Groot here. Remember.. if you ever change your mind or just want to buy a new car or Sh*!t ton of Tiger Tail Ice Cream; EDLS really needs another Adams (with 1 d). Cheers!

I love how each skull on the ground appears to belong to a different alien species. I'm not being morbid - I'm just admiring the type of detail that few artists other than Adams put into their work. This is an amazing piece of art!

As big-time bye-bye blowouts go, this one will do. I like how he found room to add "Godzilla's" (?) skull to all the fun going on here. Cheers!

What a great Adams to add to your collection, truly a stunner. The composition leads your eye across the page and back around - Adams is a master.

Hold on a sec, I'm still checking out skulls. So. Much. Detail! You nailed a one-and-done here, that's for sure. I'm going to be parked here for a while, checking this one out. You even got his take on Kirby Krackle! I'm with Eric on this one. Totally jealous. :) What a score. Huge (detailed) congrats!

Glad to add comment #50, brother! So when you decided to get an Adams piece you clearly decided to GET an Adams piece! eally hard to top as an example, man. ll of his trademark tenets are there, and in DPS format! I'm sure that had nothing to do with you picking it up :) Love all of the cartoony detail throughout - you must've spent some time poring over it. Really dig the negative space/Kirby Krackle on Thanos's right hand! HUGE congrats!

UNREAL! I have long thought Art's Guardians run was some of the best work of his career and if a cover ever came my way I'd move heaven and earth to make it happen. Huge congrats on this piece it's truly one of the best!

Stupendous, tremendous, fabulous, and gorgeous ... all wrapped up into one! The packs a punch right away and the details keep giving you body shots as you soak up all the amazing details. This is a KNOCKOUT piece of art! Congrasts and thanks for sharing!!

Wow, James... WOW. This is a stunning, collection-defining piece (even a collection the caliber of yours, before you got this)! Absolutely jaw-dropping; I can picture Mr. Adams finishing this, setting down his pen, leaning back in his chair, and thinking to himself, "Man, that's a lot of detail...". Thanos's "reversed out" right hand is the thing my eye keeps being drawn to, before it spins out of control, giddily careening around the rest of the piece. Very nice framing job, too - what a beauty! Sincere congrats on this epic, intergalactic pick up!

Saw this on "Best of" ... after the fact. Would have been in my top five for sure. I know that want to be "one and done" feeling. I've been hungry for a real detailed Adam's piece since he blew my mind with that Kong Vs T-Rex piece. I think this is my new second favorite.
