Drawn with such a manner to satisfy Mattel to align with a lot of the already existing mercahndise out there. I could have been used just as easily for a coloring book. Wilshire and Lucas do give Ken life and deeper thoughts than we give him credit for.

Comic book Ken has heart. I like the style of the pencil artist, who's new to me, Mary Wilshire. She's adept at drawing humans, horses, and scenery. I'm a longtime fan of the inker, John Sterling Lucas, who drew Katy Keene in the '80's. Some of his finely drawn and inked pin-ups of comic book glamor gals are in my gallery. I think Wilshire and Lucas mesh well as an art team. Seeing these two pages on eBay prompted me to buy the issue in which the story appears, which will be my first Barbie comic. I've got to find out if that horse goes to the glue factory or not!

From the Barbie movie, we know Ken loves horses.

Yes, movie Ken equates horses with masculinity.
