For a long time now I've been on the Garth Ennis train. Like so many other collectors and fans I just love the man's work. His writing is inspired and unique and screams of authenticity while also at times being completely outlandish.

Meanwhile he's worked with such talented artists like Dillon, Ezquerra and McCrea - cartoonists that seem uniquely qualified to tell his stories.

Whether it be Preacher or Hitman or Goddess or any number of his creations, I have always been willing to give his books a read. I picked up Dicks simply because I loved Hitman and was a huge fan of the way Ennis and McCrea worked together. After reading the first run, I came to the conclusion that Dicks may well be the most over the top of Ennis' books. And that's saying something.

I didn't hesitate in picking this piece up when I had the chance through Heritage. It's so McCrea and captures Dougie in Ivor in all their glory - and it was also used for a t-shirt in the late 90s, although just the heads it seems...
