Description

The militant wing of the Women's Liberation Movement in the early 1970s was characterized by direct action, radical demands, and a rejection of traditional political structures. By December 13, 1972, feminist activists were pushing for autonomy over their bodies, equal pay, and broader societal changes. Some groups engaged in protests, sit-ins, and disruptions to challenge patriarchal norms and demand immediate reforms.

The movement was particularly strong in Europe and the U.S., where activists sought to reshape perceptions of women’s roles in society. Many rejected hierarchical leadership, believing that consensus-driven activism was more effective. Their efforts brought issues like workplace discrimination, reproductive rights, and sexual violence into public discourse.
